Autotune -________-

If you're gonna rap, then rap
If you're gonna sing, then sing

I respect both..

I even respect autotune users, but if I hear another person sing a whole song in autotune again, I'm gonna shoot somebody

You've been warned xD

Soulja Boy speaks on Cory Gunz

Speaking of ignorant rappers, CHECK THIS SHIT OUT LOL

Rap Music

Rap Music, to me, is the soundtrack to life. I listen to it everywhere i go, it simply surrounds me, and that's not a bad thing in the least bit. Some say 'rap music is just poetry put to a beat, anyone can do it.' My response to that is 'why the hell do you still listen to it if all you're gonna do is complain?' The main problem I seem to come across, is a lot of hated looks and attitudes when I listen to rap music. For this reason alone, I took it upon myself to find out what people's problem was with rap music.
I've noticed a drastic change in the rap music industry. There was a time when lyrics were much more respectful and made a lot of sense, to some people. Compared to today's music, in my opinion, older rap was and wasn't as abrasive as it is now. The reason i said was and wasn't is because rap changes with every new artist that gets signed, some have an actual rapping talent, some just lucked up and say dumb shit. That's one main reason why many people despise rap today, and for that same reason I don't listen to all rap music. Fight the Power, a great song, was about stunding up against discrimination, so I can understand why Public Enemy felt like they needed to disrespect cops. Now in music, people get angry because rappers use profane language in every song, and because of that people think all rappers are ignorant.

Two of the most hated, yet respected and accomplished, rap artists are Kanye West and Lil Wayne. Fellow rappers in the industry respect them, and are intimidated by their success.

Lil Wayne: Grammy Award winning rap artist, Philanthropist, College Graduate, CEO of Young Money (his label), Father of four, One of the most popular celebs today. As much as people hate Lil Wayne and claim he's over rated and dumb, he is not dumb. He just didn't have enough time cause he is a popular rapper. He's also been financially successful through legal means, a young man who despite earning money after he dropped out of school (because of his child born when he was 15.), decided to get his G.E.D. Lil Wayne majored in psychology and English in college. He took 8 years in Houston, that's how he knows all the words that he uses.

Kanye West:  Grammy Award winning rapper, singer, and producer, Philanthropist, and one of the most outspoken celebrities in this world today. People hate Kanye's guts, but so many artists want to work with him. He's worked with or produced music for almost every popular musical artist. West attended art classes at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, and also enrolled at Chicago State University, but dropped out to focus on his music career. While attending school, West produced for local artists. He later gained fame by producing hit singles for major hip hop/R&B artists, including Jay-Z, Talib Kweli, Cam'ron, Paul Wall, Common, Mobb Deep, Jermaine Dupri, Scarface, The Game, Alicia Keys, Janet Jackson, John Legend among others. Not being a college grad doesn't make you ignorant, Kanye West has to be one of the most intelligent rappers today.

The reason I brought up these two artists is because, these are the only two rap artists i listen to. Yes, some rappers are ignorant, or just plain dumb, but if being an artist is your way to put food on the table and handle your business, then you can say whatever you want, in my opinion.
